At the Istanbul Jazz Festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) for the 31st time this year, Young Jazz + groups, who will perform and record an album, have been announced!
ALÂN, Blue Kiss Collective, Boba Quartet, Mojo 5, Zekeriya Şahiner Quartet and Zozeï are among the groups to take part in the Young Jazz+ program organized for the 22nd time with the evaluation concert held at Salon IKSV.
Young Jazz+ groups will perform at Jazz events in the Parks to be held free of charge in Beylikdüzü Life Valley, Beşiktaş Artists Park, Küçükçekmece Lakeside Amphitheater and Şişli Habitat Park on July 6, 7, 13 and 14. In addition, the original works of art of these groups will be included in the Young Jazz+ 24 album.
Everything to Know About Young Jazz+
Young Jazz, which has been organized since 2003, offers the opportunity to perform to amateur or semi-professional young musicians and groups under the age of 28 in Türkiye. In this program held within the scope of Istanbul Jazz Festival, young artists can express themselves in various music styles such as funk, R&B, neo-soul, electronic music and hip-hop. Moreover, they are taking their first steps into the professional music world by being entitled to take part in the Young Jazz+ album released after the festival.
Names on the Board
The 2024 Young Jazz+ selection committee consists of music professionals. Among the members of this year's selection committee are musicians Ayşe Tütüncü, Selen Gülün, Çağıl Kaya, Okan Kaya, Volkan Öktem, radio programmer Dr. Hakan Rauf Tüfekçi, writer Yekta Kopan, Sony Music Türkiye General Manager Özden Bora, Akra Jazz Festival Director Kadir Dursun, music professional Ahmet Uluğ and Istanbul Jazz Festival Director Harun Izer.

Many young artists and bands who took part in the Young Jazz+ program in the past years have achieved significant success in the international arena. These names include musicians such as Ece Göksu, Ozan Musluoğlu, Cem Tuncer, Çağrı Sertel, Gevende, Cihan Mürtezaoğlu, Batuhan Şallıel, Anıl Şallıel, Volkan Topakoğlu, Deniz Taşar, Başak Yavuz, Tolga Erzurumlu, Eylül Biçer, Can Tutuğ, Sanat Deliorman, The Kites, Cazzip Project, İpek Dinç ve Büşra Kayıkçı.
